What is PolyTrans for Cinema 4D?

PolyTrans-for-Cinema-4D is an entirely new generation of Okino software that allows native conversion of 3D data to /from the native .c4d file format of Cinema 4D without relying on the Cinema 4D program itself or the built-in converters that accompany MAXON's Cinema 4D software. It is the first time that a standalone program can read and record the native Cinema 4D file format, among all major formats and programs of MCAD, DCC, VR/ AR and VisSim files.

USES AND APPLICATIONS

Conversion of all major MCAD programs into highly optimized .c4d data files to "load and render" immediately in Cinema 4D without the need for adjustments or data correction. Commonly used solutions include SolidWorks (SLDASM, SLDPRT), ProE/Creo (ASM, PRT), STEP/IGES/Parasolid solids, DWF-3D (for the technically best AutoCAD (DXF, DWG), Navisworks (NWC, NWD), Revit (RVT) and Inventor (IPT, IAM)) and basically all other named MCAD programs. These are configured with the optional CAD/Pack, Granite/Pack, JT and CATIA modules.

Upload or save entire Cinema 4D scenes in other popular 3D programs that couldn't handle native .c4d files in the past.

Conversion of data made by Cinema 4D in all other major programs and file formats of DCC / 3D Animation, including animation data, mesh appearance, child/parent hierarchy, geometry, materials, texture maps, metadata, lights, cameras and so on. However, to define the correct perception, most customer usage patterns have the data flow from other 3D programs to Cinema 4D via Okino software. Cinema 4D conversions to/from 3ds Max occur through the PolyTrans-for-3dsMax system and to/from Maya using the PolyTrans-for-Maya system.

First, do not continue using 3ds file formats, VRML2, LightWave etc. to convert data into and out of Cinema 4D and especially not to CAD data files. Over the decades, we have found that many Cinema 4D users do not understand the differences and limitations + bottlenecks of each of these very old file formats. The technically appropriate and ideal way to perform conversions in and out of Cinema 4D is through this native .c4d conversion system. Therefore, it is no longer necessary to use the built-in free converters that accompany each copy of Cinema 4D, just as 3ds Max and Maya users have no need to use their own free converters since the late 1990s. when the PolyTrans-for-3dsMax and PolyTrans-for-Maya have hit the market.

How it works

The process of importing or exporting Cinema 4D .c4d files takes place entirely within okino software and not in Cinema 4D itself.

For example, if you convert a SolidWorks CAD file to Cinema 4D, perform these operations:

Start one of Okino's software products, such as PolyTrans, NuGraf, PolyTrans-for-Maya, or PolyTrans-for-3dsMax.

Import the solidworks top-level .sldasm assembly file into okino software, perform the necessary optimizations, and optionally add some lights/cameras/materials.

Call the Cinema 4D exporter in okino software to create the .c4d file.

Start MAXON Cinema 4D and upload it to the .c4d file.

Or, for example, if you convert a Cinema 4D .c4d file to the OpenFlight format, perform these operations:

Start one of Okino's software products, such as PolyTrans, NuGraf, PolyTrans-for-Maya, or PolyTrans-for-3dsMax.

Import the Cinema 4D .c4d file into okino software using Okino's .c4d importer.

Call the OpenFlight exporter in okino software to create the .flt file.

System Requirements

Windows 10, 8, 7 x64(64-bit)

You'll need to have 'Administrator' rights during installation (or, better yet, right-click the installer and choose 'Run as administrator'). You do not necessarily need administrator rights to run the software.

Preferably 16 GB of memory. 32 GB is more than enough for 99% of all CAD conversions.

For Mac OS X, any good Microsoft Windows emulator.
