What is POPPager?

Do you need to receive critical messages from your colleagues or alerts from essential systems 24/7? If so, POPPager is a complete SMS email gateway for all your text messaging and paging needs.

How does POPPager work?

POPPager is a gateway application. In terms of network computing, a gateway is a device or program that transforms communications from one protocol or format to another. In this case, POPPager changes messages using the Post Office Protocol (POP) in Short Message Service (SMS) messages. This gateway feature allows email messages to be automatically forwarded to a wireless device.

POPPager does this by monitoring a specific email account for new messages. When you see a new message with the wireless device number in the subject line, that message is forwarded to the wireless device.

In the default and free configuration, only one email account can send messages to the account being monitored by POPPager. To extend poppager functionality, a registration key can be acquired to increase the number of email accounts that can send messages via POPPager.

Excellent Command and Control

• Monitoring - Control over POPPager forwarding lets you determine when the application actively monitors a POP box.
• Filtering - Domain-based filtering will monitor a POP box of emails and forward only messages from the identified domains.
• Message size - Restrict the size of SMS messages sent to your wireless device. Many wireless service providers restrict or even reject messages that exceed certain size limits. Make sure that messages are truncated before they are forwarded.

Device and messaging support

• Modem Support - Don't worry about complex modem settings or commands. If a modem is configured correctly on your Windows XP machine, it will work with POPPager.
• Protocols - Support for the UCP and TAP protocol allows POPPager to be usable with most mobile operators worldwide.

System Requirements

Small Storage - Uses less than 1 MB of disk space

Efficient Memory - Uses less than 7MB of RAM when actively or inactive email

POPPager is a lightweight application that runs on any Windows 2000, Windows XP, or Windows 2003 system.
