What is QuickPHOTO CAMERA?

QuickPHOTO CAMERA is a basic version of the QuickPHOTO microscope software developed by PROMICRA since 2004. It is designed for digital image acquisition of microscopes, measurement, editing, annotation, image salvage and acquired measurements. This easy-to-learn program is designed for use in all fields of microscopy and can be used with any brand and type of optical microscope equipped with a photo port.

Overview of key features:

  • Image acquisition and live viewing of a wide range of imaging devices: digital microscope cameras, DSLR cameras and scanners.
  • Measurements in acquired images and in live view.
  • Metric and imperial units are supported: μm, mm, in, mils, mils.
  • The measured values are displayed in a well-organized table with basic statistics: number of measurements, minimum and maximum, value, mean value, standard deviation.
  • Particular measurements can be noted.
  • Measured values can be exported to an Excel file (optionally also with the measured image) or a text file.
  • Advanced functions to save multiple images at once, option to automatically save the acquired images to a predefined folder shortly after acquisition.

  • Image editing functions, indication and annotation of interesting areas of the image, image descriptions, advanced printing functions, including interactive visualization.

Image editing functions

Images are immediately edited after acquisition and automatically transferred from an imaging device to a computer and prepared for processing in the main program window. The thumbnail browser lets you easily switch to another open image by a single mouse click. The Browser window makes it easy to work with enlarged images. Images can be edited using the following functions:

  • Crop size can be set in pixels or size units
  • Rotation 90 ° clockwise or counterclockwise
  • Turn and mirror
  • Resize - new dimensions can be set in pixels or percentages
  • Brightness and contrast adjustment, color balance, histogram
  • Filters: sharpen, blur, negative, grayscale, median
  • White balance: automatic or based on a reference point
  • Black swing based on a reference point
  • Indication of interesting areas by line, arrow, ellipse, rectangle drawing tools, circle and freehand
  • Inserting text annotations

The advantages of working with layers

All drawings, measurements, and annotations inserted in an image are stored on a separate layer "above the image" that makes it possible to modify, delete, or hide them at any time. The entire layer with inserted objects can also be deleted or merged with the image. The program allows you to undo unlimited number of operations performed.

Time-Lapse Image Capture

The built-in Timer module allows the capture of time-lapse images (automatic image capture at set time intervals). The Timer module is capable of controlling computer-controlled illuminators. Thus, the lighting can always be switched on only for the time required for the acquisition of images to avoid a long-term negative effect of the lighting in the sample.

Time-Lapse Video

The built-in Time-Lapse video module can be used to create HD video (with resolution up to 1920 x 1080 pixels) with time-lapse captured images.

Image device control panels

Each of the supported imaging devices can be controlled by your dedicated control panel. The control panel contains a view of the imaging device and elements for controlling its functions and properties.

Support for two-monitor workstations

Two-monitor workstations are supported by the QuickPHOTO CAMERA program. The main program window can be displayed on a main monitor, while the control panel of an imaging device can be displayed on a secondary monitor.

Remote Trigger

A remote trigger is an optional accessory that makes image acquisition even more comfortable. Images can be acquired by pressing a trigger button.

Extension Modules

The functionality of the QuickPHOTO CAMERA program can be extended by optional additional modules:

  • Deep Focus - module to create fully focused images from partially focused stacks. The use of the module can be motorized and combined with the HDR module.
  • HDR - module for creating HDR images of series of images in brackets (images with different exposures). The module can be combined with Deep Focus and Image Stitching Modules.
  • Image Stitching - module to stitch multiple images to enlarge the field of view. The module can be combined with the HDR module.
  • RECORD IT - module for live viewing in real time video recording.
  • Figure Maker - module for effortless creation of composite figures with scale bars and labels for publication.
  • FLUO + - module for composition of multicolored fluorescent images.
