Comparing large bitmaps
Designers and engineers working with direct write mask or lithography often need to compare two large bitmaps to determine whether changes in software or flow have produced small but critical differences. For smaller bitmaps, it's easy to use tools like Adobe Photoshop or multiple open source programs.
However, because the size of our bitmaps increases (for example, a bitmap of 100,000 per 100,000 pixels), these tools take too long or are completely unable to process the data.
Artwork created RstrCmp comparison software for its own use when developing high-resolution rasterizers for lithography applications. Our customers indicated that they would also like this tool, so we released it as a commercially available package.

Outputs
The RstrCmp has anumber of different outputs available. This includes bitmaps, vector data, and a list of difference coordinates.
Union of bitmaps
For use cases where you want a vector output such as GDSII or Gerber, RstrCmp can join adjacent pixels into polygons. This results in a much smaller vector file than if each pixel were converted by itself into a small square.
