What is Scheps Omni Channel?

Designed with Grammy-winning mixer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Jay Z, Metallica), this flexible channel track offers time-tested compression combinations, EQ, saturation colors and more – all designed to work together in a beautiful and cohesive way. Channel tracks are the world's most efficient mixing tools, providing all your basic processing - EQ, compression, locking and many times more - in a modular and easy-to-manage unit.

Mixers that choose which channel track to work with often face a dilemma: channel track plugins based on old mixing consoles may seem incredible, but tend to tie it to a very specific and limited sonic color. Modular channel range plug-ins allow you to flexibly mix and combine multiple processors, but different processors may not work together cohesively and do not necessarily interact as a true channel strip.

The Scheps Omni Channel offers the best of both worlds. Over the years of mixing diverse musical genres, Andrew Scheps has perfected certain combinations of essential processors - some based on classic hardware units, some of which are innovative modules developed from the ground up - each with its own unique character. Now they are all provided in a flexible channel track plug-in, albeit fully cohesive.

Scheps Omni Channel has six modules that you can use in any order you want:

• The Pre module provides three types of analog saturation, allowing you to add various colors of harmonic distortion, as well as filters and controls of thump (resonance).
• The compression module features 3 completely different compressors, ranging from fast to slow and smooth, with a unified set of controls so you can compare them quickly. A Wet/Dry control allows you to compact in parallel within the module.
• The EQ module is a 4-band equalizer; each band provides a distinct musical sound that sustains itself or can be switched to fully parametric if a surgical EQ is required.
• The DS2 module is much more than a de-esser, with two full-band bands and four filter types that allow you to 'remove anything' - remove any offensive frequencies, not just S or T's.
• The Gate module provides all standard controls (threshold, attack and release) for blocking/expansion, but also allows you to adjust the maximum noise reduction to maintain a consistent noise level.
• If that's not enough, Scheps Omni Channel has an insert slot that can be positioned anywhere in the chain, where you can insert an additional Waves plug-in of your choice, including an extra instance of any of the Scheps Omni Channel modules.

For live sound, The Scheps Omni Channel offers zero latency and more discreet total control over each stereo channel. Selected compressor controls, EQ, and filters are conveniently mapped to the eMotion LV1 live mixing console, serving as the console's channel strip.

Finally, you get a set of 'Focus' presets, created for different sources, that highlight the most important controls you should focus on to accomplish your current task.
