With SHAPE-THIN you have properties and stresses of thin-walled sections and cold-formed sections.
In the case of SHAPE-THIN, there is an option to link to RFEM and RSTAB: The SHAPE-THIN sections are also available in the finite element program library or in the lattice and porticoes structures program. Conversely, the internal efforts of RFEM and RSTAB can be imported and scaled in SHAPE-THIN.
Functions
Modeling of cross-sections through elements, sections, arcs and point elements
Expandable library of material properties, elasticity limits and limit stresses
Properties of open, closed, or unbound sections
Effective properties of sections consisting of different materials
Determination of stresses in welding beads
Stress analysis including primary and secondary torsion sizing
Verification of relationships (c/t)
Sections properties and stresses
SHAPE-THIN determines the section properties and voltages for any open, closed, on, or unconnected profile.
Cold-formed sections
The programme shall determine the effective sections of the cold-formed profiles in accordance with EN 1993-1-3 and EN 1993-1-5. The geometric relationships mentioned in EN 1993-1-3, Secç. 5.2 regarding the applicability of the standard, they can be optionally verified.
The effects of local plate bending are considered according to the reduced widths method and the possible curvature of reinforcements (distortional bending) is considered for reinforced sections according to EN 1993-1-3, Secç. 5.5.
