Environmental Construction
Create or build projects, and then double-click the error message in the Build window to go to the location. Errors and warnings are marked with an icon on the left margin. In addition, the overview bar, positioned next to the vertical scroll bar, marks the position of errors and warnings relative to the current scroll position in the document. To quickly scroll to a demarcated location, the user can drag the scrollbar slider to the tag or click it itself.

SlickEdit's integrated debugging provides a convenient, easy-to-use front end for many debuggers. Set breakpoints, step, inspect the stack, see variables/members - all the features that is expected from a debugger. SlickEdit supports debugging: GNU C/C++, Java, WinDbg, LLDB C/C++, Google Go, Python, Perl, Ruby, PHP, XCode and Android JVM/NDK.

Type a member access operator (for example, '.' In Java 'or "->" in C++) for the display of a corresponding list of objects and symbols
Code navigation
Jump from a symbol to its definition. Use Ctrl+/ for listing all references to the current symbol, and optionally jump to the first reference. These operations define a marker that can be displayed to return to the previous location (Ctrl + Comma).
Symbol references
View the list of references to a symbol. Use (Ctrl + /) to open the reference view of the current symbol or type/select a symbol in the drop-down list. Click a reference to view it. Double-click to go to it.

Editing large files
Read and save files 4GB and higher. The maximum limit is 2 TB, limited only by available system memory and hard disk performance.
Ornament when typing
When the "Ornamentation while typing" feature is enabled for C++, Objective-C, Java, JavaScript, XML, or HTML, your code is automatically formatted when typing ';', '{' or '}'. This improves consistency and produces readable code with better spacing.
Strands with SlickEditPro
Use the mode to surround existing lines of code with a new structure, such as: if, for, while, and try. Existing code is automatically ensigned between keys and indented. Additional structures can also be set to Surround With.

Use DIFFzilla to compare directories and files. When comparing files, diff highlights lines and characters that do not match. The user can even edit files while they are being differentiated!

Layout
SlickEdit makes the most of the available space with a side-by-side MDI layout. Document windows can be split for viewing different parts of the same file. It allows you to drag a document from the main window to a separate document group, with its own set of tool windows.
Named layouts
Create named layouts for floating document groups. Easily switch between tool window layouts. When you drag/drop a document tab to create a floating group, SlickEdit automatically applies its default layout.
