Synchron FX Strings I is the most daring string library to date, recorded with the unique setting of the newly refurbished scoring stage, Synchron Stage Vienna. For the first time in the vienna Symphony Library's long history of developing sample libraries, this collection includes production-ready musical textures and loops using a 50-piece string orchestra, allowing you to create everything from ethereal spherical soundscapes to pulsing melodic ornaments and aggressive suspense and attack groups!

Synchron FX Strings I is an endless source of inspiration and a fantastic tool for designing entire worlds. Easily create effects and soundscapes by holding one or two keys and add variety and color change by moving the preconfigured controllers. We capture unique sounds and game techniques that have never been sampled before. While other products quickly reach their intrinsic limits, their musical journey into never-before-heard sound worlds is just beginning with Synchron FX Strings I.
While vienna's excellent musicians generally avoid experimentation during sampling sessions, in this case they were asked to set aside conventions and go far beyond their normal limits. The result is a treasure trove of textures and anatous and anatous elements that you can effortlessly mix to create your unique and personal sound. All varieties and combinations are easily accessed with the new Vienna Synchron Player. Synchron FX Strings I is not limited to orchestral applications, but can be used in any genre and contemporary style such as Ambient, Alternative, EDM, World and many others.

Synchron FX Strings I comes with the dedicated Synchron Player that incorporates a new audio engine built from scratch. It provides unprecedented streaming performance and a new level of sophisticated simplicity - just step through the joints, select their variations, and explore how preconfigured controllers (Density, Bow Style, and Velocity Crossfade) affect the loaded preset. And be sure to apply the new time stretching feature to short and long artuculations and see (and listen!) What's going on?
Synchron Player also includes an internal mixer with 5-band EQ, individual delay settings for runtime compensation, algorithmic reverb, phase change, and panoramic controls. It runs on Windows and Mac OS X as a native VST, AU, and AAX plug-in on your DAW.
50 microphones - 50 musicians
We spared no effort in recording Synchron FX Strings I, using nearby microphones dedicated to each string orchestra musician. For ease of handling, you have quick access to six stereo mixes of these individual closed mic signals (violins 1 and 2, violas 1 and 2, cellos, basses). Due to the comprehensive selection of other sets of stereo and ambient microphones, you can create your individual string set sound in stereo, 5.1 surround or even immersive audio format 9.1, using the player's full mixer.
Alpha envelope or chord (spherical chord textures)
The textures of spherical chords are based on the "Alpha chord", which is composed of two seventh miniature chords in symmetrical layers, with a whole tone interval between them. In Synchron FX Strings I, this chord is presented in its basic form (on the central key "C") and in two inversions.
Alpha chord notes are derived from an alternate octatonic scale (eight half-step and half-tone notes).
The entire half-tone (or "diminished") scale was first found in 20th century music, particularly in the music of Béla Bartók, Alexander Skrjabin and Olivier Messiaen, for example, in his magnum opus, the symphony "Turangalîla". Messiaen described this scale as the second mode of his seven "modes with limited transpositions", as it can only be transposed three times (the fourth transposition would already be a repetition). In addition to the composers mentioned above, the scale is often used in jazz music.
About the composer, orchestrator and conductor
Born and raised in Vienna, composer and regent Johannes Vogel graduated from the Vienna University of Music and Performing Arts as a percussionist with honors. He began his career as a musician at the Vienna Philharmonic, the Zurich Opera Orchestra and the Salzburg Academic Camerata. As a composer, his musical projects for film and TV include mgm/paramount production "Hercules" with Dwayne Johnson, Guillermo del Toro's "Crimson Peak," "The Colony" with Emma Watson and Daniel Brühl, as well as numerous episodes of the German TV series "Der Bergdoktor." Since 2016, Johannes Vogel has been the principal conductor of Synchron Stage Vienna, with most of the film's musical productions on the new Vienna scoring stage recorded under his baton - including tracks by Hans Zimmer, Harry Gregson-Williams, Rupert Gregson-Williams, Lorne Balfe and many others.
