Six instruments only

This collection of solo instruments from two violins, a viola, two cellos and a bass is based on our COLLECTIONS VI Solo Strings I, Solo Violin 2 and Solo Cello 2, offering a completely revised and optimized sample database for the Vienna Synchron Player. The goal was to further improve the gameplay and realism of each instrument, which we were able to improve sample recordings and also using synchron player's unique features.

SYNCHRON-ized Solo Strings comes with the same number of deep sampled joints as the original SOLO STRINGS VI, with a clearly defined and color-coded structure in Synchron Player for optimal overview and quick access to the wide choice of execution techniques.

Greater flexibility and authenticity

One of the main improvements is made possible by synchron player's time extension feature. Now you can change the vibrato speed in real time using a MIDI controller! Real-time stretching also allows you to change the speed of tremolos, trills, portals and glissandos by assigning a DC controller to synchron player's "Stretch Factor" fader. You can even speed up or slow down scale executions while playing or sync them automatically with host time!

Leveraging Synchron Player's new launch sample technology and adding a variety of optimized launch sounds to a range of joints greatly increases your range of use. Short notes play authentically depending on the resonance of the body and the volume of the note. Long and medium notes such as détaché, port, crescendos and diminutives can be played shorter than their recorded duration and are still automatically provided with authentic launch sounds. In this way, for example, you can use the first part of the growing notes as soft portal joints, or the first part of the diminishing notes as an espressive technique with a slight decreasing that sound very musical and natural.

The original repeating performances that include articulations of legato and port variations to staccato and spiccato have also been enhanced by the new release sample technology and by a new repetition and interval logic. These new "Multi Shorts" patches automatically provide notes that sounds very natural in medium and fast passes, depending on the note played before (the same note or an interval) and how long a note is played. The new "Dynamic Layer" patch derived from the original repeating recordings offers up to nine layers of speed of each articulated note so you can play passages with extremely differentiated dynamics, accessing the individual speed layers of each joint with the mod wheel or key speed.

Meticulously balanced volume levels across the sample database enable seamless note transitions by moving from one execution technique to the next. Cross-speed fading has been further optimized for extra-smooth volume changes. Many joints are now available as loopnotes, such as sustains (with and without vibrato), trills, tremolos, and more. Legatos without loops are still available and demonstrate the natural musicality of each beautifully articulated target note as performed by the musician.

World-class acoustics

The reverb and positioning presets created by Synchron Stage sound engineers combine custom impulse responses and Vienna MIR technology with expertly crafted reverb settings for each instrument, so they're placed perfectly in the grand hall of Synchron Stage Vienna, one of the world's best scoring stages. You can also turn off the convolution reverb and algorithmic reverb of the player and place the dried samples in any other environment. By adding the synchron stage Vienna's Stage A environment to the dry samples in real time, SYNCHRON-ized Solo Strings blend seamlessly with any other product in our Synchron series, resulting in a ready-to-produce sound "out of the box".
