Bring a powerful Visual Studio-like code editing experience to your own apps. Includes all the advanced features found in popular code editors. Syntax languages for the most popular languages are available, or customized, build yours to handle any proprietary language.
Syntax highlighting
Highlighting styles can be completely customized by the end user for each code language. SyntaxEditor comes with syntax highlighting for more than 25 languages.
Code sketch (foldable)
The end user can collect language-defined text ranges. A small adornment represents the collected text, and when passing over it, shows the contained text.
Selection Modes
While the default continuous selection mode is generally used, a special block selection mode is available and supports simultaneous editing of multiple lines.
Indicators
Indicators are text regions with special tags that display a glyph in the bookmark margin and optionally highlight the text range with special styles. Indicators based on text ranges (for example, breakpoint) and line-based indicators (for example, bookmarks) are supported.
Paraphernalia
A powerful adornment layer system allows any type of custom interface elements (images, shapes, and even controls) to be added anywhere within the text area. Easily add scribble lines, background highlights, or any other décor to the text.
Search (find/replace)
A flexible search API is built into the control with the ability to highlight matches. End users can use incremental search to search without ui or our search preview control that has a ready-to-use user interface to find/replace.
Line break
When line break is enabled, long lines are grouped at the edge of the editor view into a new line so that all text can be visible without horizontal scrolling.
Single-line mode
An optional single-line mode renders the control as a regular TextBox, but with all the syntax highlighting, selection, IntelliPrompt, and other features that make SyntaxEditor excellent.
Split views
Divide the editor into multiple resizable views so that different parts of the same document can be viewed and edited in the same editor control.
Undo and redo
Edits to a document are tracked in undo and redo stacks, allowing an end user to step back to an earlier version of the document text.
Lock Recoil / Outdent
Select multiple lines and press Tab to lock them at the next tab stop or Shift + Tab to pass through them.
Visible Blanks
Tab and space characters can optionally be represented by glyphs that show the white space generated by the character.
Delimitadores
Languages can easily support the delimiter highlight (support) and the delimiter's autofill.
Drag and drop
Drag and drop the text in the editor view or externally to/from other applications, where you can determine the textual representation of the drop.
Margins
The preview margins of the line number, design, selection, ruler, and line break editor are sent with the control. Custom margins can also be created.
Impression
Built-in dialogs support printing configurable documents. The document title, line number, line break glyph, and page number margins are included.
Bi-Di edition and IME
All text is edited in Unicode characters and bidirectional editing is fully supported. IME can be used to insert extended character glyphs.
IntelliPrompt
The features of the IntelliPrompt UI interface are an end-user help that supports code completion and provides contextually aware information about surrounding code.
Completion list
Displays various autocomplete options for the end user to choose in response to Ctrl + Space. Features include description hints, filters, various matching algorithms, matching text highlights, and more.
Parameter Information
Displays useful pop-up hints about a call being typed and its parameters. Multiple invocation overloads can be displayed in a single pop-up, using the arrow keys to switch between them.
Quick Information
Provides detailed information about what is at the current location of the caret or under the mouse. Use the mini-HTML markup language to apply advanced formatting to the displayed text.
Selection of code snippets
Shows a completion list for navigating through the folders of code snippets and selecting an applicable code snippet to insert. Code snippets use the same file format as Visual Studio.
Code snippets templates
Each code snippet can declare multiple text fields. When a code fragment template session is activated, the text is inserted and the end user can tabulate between fields to edit their values.
Navigable symbols
Drop-down menus positioned above the editor can show all available root symbols (usually types) and members within the selected root symbol. Selections are updated as the cursor is moved in the editor.
