What is TCode?

Whether you need to record a live show or transcribe a movie from disc or tape, TCode is the software that will provide you with the time code whenever you need it. Keeping you focused on your work and not the clock, the software-based timecode decoder works with just about any timecode source.

Now, by adding a completely overhauled, web-based interface, you can quickly view the timecode according to your needs. Using a QuickTime movie or a Linear Timecode-enabled camera, accurate frame recording is just one access key away. TCode allows a standard computer to replace specialized Linec Timecode (LTC) hardware in ways never before imagined.

How it works

TCode takes time from any LTC (Linear Time Code) output, usually on the back of professional VTRs or directly from a transmission time code generator, and decodes it through any audio input. This allows you to log an event as it happens or while watching a tape later using only the computers embedded in the audio input or a third-party USB or Firewire audio device.

TCode is able to send the time code to remote machines over the network, so you can now use your existing network infrastructure to have an accurate frame timecode.

TCode also supports embedded timecode as an audio channel of QuickTime and mp3 files.
