What is TwistedWave?

TwistedWave is the ideal tool for:

  • Recording.  Open TwistedWave, press record. That's how easy it is to start recording a podcast, song, or concert. While recording, place markers with a single key to remember the places you'll need to edit later. It's really a good tool for dubbing artists.
  • Domain. Equalization, compression, throttling, you choose ... Of the hundreds of plug-ins available Audio Unit or VST, you will surely find the right one for the best effect.
  • Converting files. TwistedWave can read and write files in many different formats. Converting a single file or an entire folder of audio files from one format to another is simple.

Batch processing

TwistedWave now has a very powerful batch processing engine. It can work with any number of files or hierarchies of entire files and apply any number of effects to them, such as amplifying, applying an Audio Unit or VST plug-in, or changing frame rate, for example.

A processed file can be saved in a different file format. Because TwistedWave can read and write in many different file formats, this makes a batch converter very powerful.

Batch processing can also be used to generate the waveform image from a list of files. This can be used to generate small images representing sound files to create a website, for example.

Tecnologia ZTX Time Stretch / Pitch Shift

TwistedWave lets you change the pitch or speed of a piece of audio independently of each other.

This feature comes with ZTX Time Stretch / Pitch Shift technology, licensed by Zynaptiq GmbH, one of the most advanced algorithms for time-based manipulation of audio material available today. With excellent audio quality, it is really usable for professional audio jobs.

ZTX technology also allows TwistedWave to perform tuning correction. Given a piece of audio, the ZTX will automatically switch the pitch to the nearest note.

Processes background effects

When TwistedWave is busy loading a large file or applying a complex effect, all work happens in the background, and you can continue working with the document, applying new effects to the wave. With TwistedWave, the time you had to wait for your audio editor to perform a long calculation is over.

Broad metadata support

TwistedWave can read and save music metadata, such as artist name, song title, or album cover, from files in aiff, wav, mp3, mp3, mp4, flac, and ogg/vobis format.

In addition, TwistedWave supports BWAV metadata as well as Soundminer metadata for wav and aiff files. Additionally, this metadata can be saved as foreign metadata in flac files.

Fade/fade automatically when copying/pasting

A special paste mode automatically shrinks and decreases the clipboard and existing content of the file when pasting to make transitions smoother.

Several options allow you to select whether or not to apply fade, fade duration, and more. To immediately see how fadingisapplied, a sketch shows a preview of the file, represented in blue, and the clipboard in red. The slopes show where fading scans occur.

Rearrange your audio with clip list

Editing radio packets becomes very easy with the list of clips. In just a few steps, you can quickly scroll through a long recording, select parts of the wave you're interested in, and copy them to the clip list. You can create a new document by pasting your clips from the list.

The clip list can also act as a playlist. You can reorder the clips, play them all.

Mastering facilitated with effect stacks

For a successful mastering, it is usually necessary to apply more than one effect to a song. With a common audio editor, you need to apply the effects one by one and you cannot use different presets for an effect without undoing it and all the effects you applied after it.

With TwistedWave, you can load any number of audio drive or VST plug-ins into an effects stack. This allows you to visualize all of them, adjust the settings of one effect independently of the other, change the order in which they are applied ...

Fast interface

Zooming in and out of the waveform is very fast. Click with the command and drag the mouse to zoom in accurately, while the wave is being updated more than 100 times per second. Even when the files last several hours, when the file has not finished loading, or when an effect is being applied, TwistedWave remains very responsive.

Undo / Redo unlimited and instant.

At any time, you can undo any modifications made to your file. You can freely experience new effects without fear of making mistakes!

Import and export many audio file formats

TwistedWave works great as an audio converter. It is able to read and export sound files in various formats including: wav, aiff, au, snd, sd2, mpg, mp2, mp3, mp4, m4r (ringtones for iPhone), m4a (iTunes), m4b (audiobooks), aac, caf, flac, ogg/vorbis, wma, WavPack, Wave64. You can also import the soundtrack of a movie in mov, avi, flv (Flash Video), wmv, or mpeg formats.

When you're working on an audiobook or podcast, TwistedWave automatically converts the bookmarks as chapters in the file and vice versa. Chapters are perfectly recognized by iTunes and iPod. They make it very convenient to jump from one part of the file to the next or see which chapter is currently playing.

TwistedWave can also read and save Ambisonic B-Format (amb or ambi) sound files produced by many popular multichannel audio recorders.

Multichannel audio editing software

TwistedWave handles multi-channel files as easily as mono or stereo files. The multichannel audio unit or VST plug-ins can be applied to files with an arbitrary number of channels.
