What is UltraVision?

Complete UT and Phased Array inspection software

Zetec's UltraVision software manages ultrasonic signal acquisition (UT), displays real-time images of these signals, and provides online and offline data analysis. UltraVision offers many advanced features and tools that improve the efficiency of UT inspections.

UltraVision software drives all Phased UT systems from Zetec and conventional UT systems. In data analysis mode, it supports legacy file formats (DAT, RDT, OPD, and OUD), in addition to the new UVData and BeamData formats.

3D desktop

The built-in 3D desktop lets you create your actual inspection configuration in UltraVision 3 and perform ray tracing with coverage mapping to determine your inspection detection and coverage capability.

Inspection parameters and results are delivered in a comprehensive report. Ultrasonic inspection software is intuitive and allows users to easily design and simulate an inspection.

UltraVision supports many advanced ultrasonic inspection techniques and methods

UltraVision provides value and support throughout critical inspection processes when reliability, performance, and ease of use are required.

BENEFITS

Technical development

The development of the inspection technique is the beginning of all ultrasonic inspection. Basic inspection techniques can be developed manually or in third-party software, but this consumes time and requires transfer. UltraVision provides an extended set of features for complex and customized geometries.

  • Management of basic to complex geometries
  • Handling custom geometries
  • Scanner creation tool
  • Overlays

UltraVision features an advanced focal law calculator. One that is common throughout Zetec UT's portfolio. This can handle probes with up to 256 elements and takes into account the built-in probe, wedge, and material database. Graphic feedback on the generation of focal laws is provided. The calculation of the focal law that supports flat and cylindrical geometries is easy, fast and accurate to ensure that probes are positioned optimally for inspection. The focal law calculator supports all advanced ultrasonic inspection techniques, including pulse echo in Phased Array, pitch and catch, mono and double tandem, plus conventional TOFD. UltraVision supports flexible probes capable of adapting to unchecked uneven surfaces. UltraVision can calculate focal laws to match the surface profile.

UltraVision will design a probe to meet the application requirements, evaluating theoretical parameters, calculating beam parameters and providing a 3D simulation of the acoustic beam. It will also simulate beam behavior if any of the channels are defective. In addition, the calculated wedge parameters can be exported to facilitate wedge manufacturing.

Data acquisition

When it comes to setting up construction, calibration, and data acquisition, UltraVision can handle everything.

  • In Setup Building, UltraVision can effectively take care of user rights management (from individuals to groups), ensuring inspection integrity. UT, Mechanical, and Screen Display Parameters settings can be restricted to users or groups defined
  • For Calibration, several tools are available to check the calibration of mechanical parameters and UT. In addition, automatic probe detection identifies connected probes, reads probe parameters, serial number, and tracks all probe changes
  • In terms of data acquisition, UltraVision acquires all relevant data needed for accurate and reliable inspections. This data is stored in a data file that can reach up to 20 GB and can be archived or exported according to user requirements

Data analysis

UltraVision's powerful data analytics capabilities offer an inspection advantage.

  • Views and Axis: Provides a variety of advanced views, which can be corrected, linked, or corrected in 3 dimensions. The software can also convert between Cartesian and polar coordinate systems and can convert linear signals to logarithmic
  • Analysis support: A large set of tools is available to assist in data analysis and scaling indications
  • File management: Data can be archived or exported according to user requirements
  • Processing tools: UltraVision also has a variety of processing tools that offer various data display and corrective processing formats. Original raw data is never compromised
  • Parameters: All mechanical and UT parameters can be reviewed and displayed in the information fields. Custom information is archived with dynamic links to Excel, where specific calculations can be performed

Communicant

With UltraVision, reports are highly flexible and powerful. The statements are automatically published in a table of exportable indications. It can be exported in Excel or as a full report. Additional configurable user fields can be created to provide additional information in the report. The indications are plotted directly in a 3D view of the inspected sample. Best of all, a wide range of predefined reports is available to facilitate the reporting process.
