What is USB Over Network?

USB over Network lets you use shared remote USB devices on a local network or on the internet.  No matter if you're in another office or country, you can now use any USB device remotely as if you were connected to your computer locally.

How it works

The program consists of two parts - Server and Client. The server part is installed on a PC where USB devices are physically connected, enabling the sharing of devices for remote connection. The Client part must be installed on computers where you need access to remote shared USB devices.

When you connect a remote USB device using a portion of the Customer's device on your PC, it appears that the device has been connected directly to your computer.

Works on any USB Device

The program is not limited to some specific models of USB devices. It's compatible with any of them. So it's a really universal solution for remote access to USB devices. Even the most exotic USB devices can be accessed over the network or over the internet.

Support for Windows and Linux

USB over Network supports both Windows and Linux on both sides. Any Windows and Linux-compatible distribution can be used on the Client side to access remote USB devices shared on these servers.

"Drive-Free" solution

USB over Network does not require server-side USB device drivers. This feature really simplifies everything, since it allows you to share USB devices even when your drivers have not been installed locally (or in case the device is not supported by the server-side OS). Keep in mind that USB device drivers are needed on the client side anyway.

USB Port Sharing

In some cases, it is really convenient to use some dedicated USB port for device sharing. Therefore, any USB device connected to it will be shared automatically. This will not affect other USB devices connected to other USB ports.

SSL Security

Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) is a standard security technology for establishing an encrypted link between a client's server. This layer protects your private information and keeps your data secure.

Password protection

To provide more security, you can password protect USB devices or the entire USB server. Thus, only authorized users will be able to access remotely specified USB devices.

Inverted device connections

Sometimes it is necessary to start connecting the server-side device to the client side. Therefore, instead of connecting the remote USB device, the end user can "push" the local USB device to the remote computer. The callback connection feature is especially useful if the server is behind a firewall or on a NAT network.

Sharing by interface

There is the possibility of interface sharing for composite devices that typically contain multiple USB devices. For example, if you use the webcam with built-in speaker, it's okay to share the webcam for remote access, but leave the speakers for local use only.

Advanced sharing rules

The Sharing Rules system allows you to fine-tune the sharing process of both the concrete device and the USB device group with the same characteristics. The built-in Sharing Rules Manager makes the rule creation process much easier.

Automatic discovery of the USB server

USB over Network Client can discover the USB Servers installed on your local network. Therefore, in most cases, you do not even need to specify the remote IP address or the server host name. Just choose the required server from the list to connect the server permanently.
