What is VirtualATM?

Paragon VirtualATM is a next-generation test application for XFS-based ATMs (also known as advanced function or open architecture ATMs) that uses virtualization to provide testers with a realistic ATM simulation along with automation for faster and more efficient testing. As a FASTest Web extension, VirtualATM leverages Web technology to enable your teams to perform ATM testing with a virtualized version of any ATM in your fleet, 24x7, from anywhere on the planet. After you create tests in VirtualATM, you can use Web FASTest to run these tests on demand, while your testers continue to build new tests to expand the coverage of the tests. Unparalleled ATM simulation through virtualization

Because VirtualATM uses an ATM profile that originates from a virtualization of your physical ATM, your simulated devices/drivers behave exactly like the physical ATM. View your ATM screen views, receipt layouts, and transaction flows. Perform pre-configured ATM device failures with a single click – even failures that are impossible to test without damaging a physical ATM. Quickly set up ATM media (stacks of cash, checks, etc.) to test specific conditions (such as invoices jammed in a terminal). Easily switch from testing one ATM brand to another (Diebold to NCR, for example) without leaving the VirtualATM interface. Use a host proxy to choose from multiple test host systems, without having to make manual changes to the ATM application.

Controlled access to your virtualized ATM resources

ATM profiles, with virtual cards and test media (such as cash and checks), can be cloned so that testers can have their own virtual test lab. Web FASTest allows 24x7 access to your testers, wherever they are. Web FASTest provides administrative control of test data, so that you can set user permissions to selectively allow testers to view, edit, or share ATM profiles and other test data.

Easier setup, workflow - by design

VirtualATM programmatically handles many aspects of the installation and maintenance of virtual ATMs. Run the Discovery Utility to collect information about XFS services and devices from your physical ATM. Let the simulator use these findings to automatically create a customizable dashboard (with a display screen, card acceptor, PIN pad, etc.) for your virtual ATM. Use the VM Setup Tool to create a VM ready to connect, including your virtual ATM profile and all the necessary Paragon software. Keep your virtual ATMs operating efficiently, immediately available for testing using host proxy connections and detached ATM resources. Faster, more accurate testing through automation

Record transaction segments (for example, write segments for card selection and PIN entry, transaction selection, etc.) and use these segments as building blocks to create automated tests. After you create your automated tests, you can reproduce them in VirtualATM or run them remotely in Web FASTest. Or, capture trace messages between VirtualATM and the test host and import them into Web FASTest as automated tests on the host system. Quickly conduct regression testing for multiple scenarios across your ATM network. Reports record test details, including screen and receive images and test results (pass/fail).
