What is VISUALSVN?

VisualSVN is an Apache Subversion integration plug-in for Microsoft Visual Studio. It is implemented as a low-level Visual Studio integration package and provides complete, robust, and straightforward integration with Subversion.

• Live Status

VisualSVN instantly displays any changes you make to the working copy, including property changes, folder changes, and changes made to files that are not included in the solution.

• Status of traffic lights

An intuitive way to display status: green for unmodified items, yellow for changed items, and red for conflicts and other errors.

• Real-time status

The status is incrementally recalculated in the background process and is updated immediately after any changes.

• Status for everything

Cumulative semaphore status is displayed for physical folders, filters (in C++projects), and for solution folders

• Status of the entire working copy

Whenever a visible indicator in the Visual Studio status bar displays the cumulative status for the entire working copy.

• Status is cumulative

The status of semaphores is calculated recursively: folders are always marked as yellow if they contain yellow subitems (means changed).

• Status is aware of the publisher

Even unsaved changes performed in the editor are instantly considered and displayed.

• Full working copy tracking

VisualSVN considers the status of items that are not included in the current solution: you are notified of any changes to your working copy.

• Blocked files indicator

Another special icon in the status bar is displayed when you have locked files in the working copy.
