What is VUMA-network?

VUMA-network is an interactive network simulation program that is used for the simulation of steady state environmental conditions found in underground mines and allows simultaneous simulation of:

  • Airflow
  • Thermodynamic air behavior
  • Gases (including radon)
  • Dust emissions

Applications that include in VUMA-network:

  • Planning and design of ventilation systems
  • Check environmental performance parameters
  • Execution of hypothetical scenarios and trade-offs
  • Energy optimization
  • Dust/gas tracking in an underground mine
  • Fault detection and troubleshooting
  • Tracking contaminants resulting from an explosion
  • Determine the explosion elimination time
  • Fire module
  • Considers the combustion effect of fire on the network, i.e. ventilation flow rotation
  • Simulates the success of possible firefighting scenarios
  • Simulates existing fire control measures, e.g. doors installed to control a conveyor belt fire

Currently supported languages:

  • English
  • Spanish
  • Polish
