What is WebTutor?

WebTutor is an integrated system for automating business processes associated with recruitment, evaluation, testing and staff training. It also systematizes files and saves knowledge, facilitating the management of staff talents. The system organizes and streamlines communication and interaction between employees and the HR department.

The WebTutor system presents a modular approach that allows you to create a selection of software modules within a flexible and highly configurable system database. How the system responds depends on the tasks performed by the client.

After purchasing the WebTutor system, the customer can access a customized portal via intranet and internet. Distance courses, test modules, a corporate information portal, or a complete academic and HR portal that automates all processes related to corporate training can be built using the portal framework.

The portal provides users (employees, partners, and customers) with various tools, depending on a set of embedded system modules. Below are some examples of services that are available on the Portal:

• Distance learning courses for staff
• Inform employees about company HR policies (news, articles, documents)
• Employee testing
• Carrying out personnel assessment procedures (by competence or by task)
• Inform employees about all types of corporate training opportunities; familiarization with the training and activity schedule; collect training requests
• Gather feedback using forums, blogs, polls, or course assessments
• Creates a company knowledge base

The system can be integrated into the basic elements of the customer's IT infrastructure - payroll accounting system, EPR systems, user accounts, corporate mail systems, etc. This integration allows the implementation and operation of the system to be as efficient as possible.

System Requirements

• Operating system - Windows Server 2000/2003/2008 / 2008R2 / 2012 (32-bit and 64-bit platforms are supported)
• Application Server - Internet Information Services (version 6 and later)
• Database server
• Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (any version is supported, including Express Edition)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 / 2008R2 (any version is supported, including Express Edition)
• Microsoft SQL Server 2012 (any version is supported, including Express Edition)
• Oracle Server 10g R2 
• Oracle Server 11g 
• With the number of students up to 5,000 people, you can use XML file-based storage without using DBMS

The system web interface is implemented as a standalone Web application or as a part of the Microsoft SharePoint Web.

To work with the system, 2 types of user interfaces are used:

• Browser (Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox) - interface for all users of the portal. Requirements for additional components are not met (except for the requirements of electronic training courses installed in the system).
• Special Application WebTutor Administrator: An interface for system administrators, designed to configure directories and system parameters, to keep databases separate from the system.
