What is winCATS Software?

Wincats Organizes the Workflow of The Thin Layer Chromatography Instrumental WinCATS is the name of the integrated software concept that incorporates all the steps of the procedure. WinCATS' modular design allows the user to select or deselect any step of the procedure as appropriate for the given analytical task. The explorer with a tree-shaped structure provides an overview of the step and progress of an analysis with all parameters and data.

• Stationary phase: entry of plate material and pre-treatment of the layer;
• Definition of samples, standards and calibration method, if applicable;
• Sample application: application device selection, parameter control input and monitor its execution. For manually operated devices, all steps can also be documented;
• Development of chromatograms: selection of the instrument, input of operational parameters and monitoring of its execution;
• Derivation - pre or post chromatography;
• Detection: selection of the instrument, input of control parameters and monitor its execution, integration and designation of peak when applicable;
• Quantitative evaluation: computation and presentation of results;
• Image documentation: device and camera selection, input of control parameters and monitoring of image capture and subsequent functions;
• Electronic signature: Part of component 11's 21CFR option "is ready accordingly," additional parts include the automatically created "Audit-Log" and "System-Log" and several relevant security functions.

For winCATS-controlled instruments, all steps used in each analysis are performed and documented automatically. For instruments not controlled by winCATS the user manually inserts parameters through input dialogs. All data including images belonging to the current analysis is finally stored by winCATS in a file and can be printed at any time.

With TLC Visualizer: 1x 1394a FireWire (6-pin connector) or 1x 1394 FireWire (4-pin input with external power adapter and 6-pin output).
