General information
wodCrypt is a lightweight component that provides strong encryption for your applications. It provides support for the most common cryptographic algorithms, such as
UNIX encryption command for encryption and symmetric decryption,
to make and verify signatures, and
to create hashes.
Working with Blobs
To perform data manipulation, wodCrypt works with Blobs (large binary OBjectS - although they don't have to be large!). Blob is our object for reading and writing data - which means you can read and write string variables and byte arrays. In addition, they can display the information in the ENCODED FORMAT BASE64 and HEX if your environment does not like working with binary data. A Blob is, by definition, an abstract object. We've created three variants: MemBlob, FileBlob, and StreamBlob - you can use the one that's most appropriate for your app.
Assinaturas MS Authenticode
wodCrypt can create digital signatures based on Microsoft Authenticode technology. Assuming you have a valid code signing certificate, simply call the SignEXE method for your file to be digitally signed. No more Internet Explorer warnings will appear after you sign your files.
Optimized code
In addition to working according to encryption standards (i.e. no random padding and internal wrapper), wodCrypt can also work in Optimized mode. In this case, it is unlikely that other encryption tools will be able to access (directly) your encrypted data, because wodCrypt will add specific information, such as blob size. Optimized mode ensures that after decryption, you get exactly the same plain text you had before encryption. When working with the patterns, wodCrypt needs to take care of the block sizes, key sizes, etc. for each protocol, so that all empty spaces need to be filled with zeros. It's not a smart way to protect data - but it's necessary for text encrypted by wodCrypt to remain accessible to other decryption tools and continue to deliver the expected results.
