XArp is a security application that uses advanced techniques to detect ARP-based attacks. Using active and passive modules, XArp detects hackers within your network. ARP attacks allow an attacker to silently listen to or manipulate all of their data sent over the network. This includes documents, emails, or voice conversations. ARP spoofing attacks are not detected by firewalls and operating system security: Firewalls do not protect you from ARP-based counter-attacks.

Why do I need XArp?

Because ARP-based attacks are a very underrated attack. Using ARP spoofing, an attacker can listen to all traffic on your network, including emails and passwords, for example. All this goes completely unnoticed. XArp runs active and passive methods to detect these attacks.

What network environment do I need from XArp?

ARP attacks can only run on a local network. If you have a DSL dial line for a single computer, you don't need XArp. If your computer resides on a local network, you run the risk of ARP attacks and need XArp. An example for local networks is enterprise networks. When you have a computer at work, it is more likely to be a local network.
