What is Xyro B4 Software?

Active Distribution Console

Xyro B4 Software presents the best tool for these and other administrative tasks that affect more than one station.

Xyro B4 Software is a complete solution for file distribution and remote control, application installations and network query. The ADC:

  • Performs fast and reliable one-to-many distribution of files or data software.
  • It will make your network administration faster and more efficient.
  • It is intended for sites with an IP network of 10 to 10000 stations.
  • It's easy to use and doesn't need extensive administrator training.

And most of all, it's really fast at distributing data to multiple stations simultaneously. This is because the ADC uses a special networking technique. There is no longer a need to schedule large distributions like other products. Just sit on the console, select your customers, specify your distribution, and launch it. And then watch your megabytes arrive in real time at various destination stations.

Xyro B4 Software is as fast and secure as if you were just copying from one server to another. But with one difference: you have as many targets as you want. And you remotely control all of them on this single console.

Xyro B4 Software is an application that runs interactively in a central station. The receiving agent is a service - on all client stations - that runs in the background. Setting up clients is very easy - the center console completely controls your clients, from installation to activation, deactivation and cleaning. The status of the clients and the results of the distribution are always available in real time and are shown on the screen.

Why is it so fast?

Xyro B4 Software uses the IP Multicast protocol to distribute data over the network. This significantly reduces the network load: instead of using the point-to-point TCP/IP connection between stations, data is sent only once over the network.

Compare this to regular distributions: multicast software distribution can save hundreds of megabytes of network traffic per station on the network.

An example: For 400 workstations to install a 100 MB Windows 2000 (TM) Service Pack, it will take hours to copy the total amount of 40 GB on regular network connections. A file transfer in multicast reduces the network load to just once, sending the 100 MB, in a matter of minutes.

Application Deployment

The ADC remote command feature can be easily used to deploy applications. Common package types, such as MSI and SMS-installer, are supported, as well as any custom created installations.

The ADC Enterprise version can register all distributions and installations in a database. Several database types are supported, such as SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or Access.
