What is Z-Cron Task Scheduler ?

A scheduling service (also known as a task scheduler) is an important constituent of a system for automatically executing recurring tasks. Z-Cron is a scheduler that you can use to perform jobs/tasks on your PC with time control and scheduling. Z-Cron is a central coordination point for software scheduling and automation. In addition to the time-controlled start of applications, the program contains several tools that help facilitate automated and scheduled system administration.

With the Z-Cron scheduler, you can start and/or exit time-driven programs on Windows, similar to Unix Cron. A scheduler is one of the most powerful services on a computer system. You can use it to start all types of programs at automatically set times, for example, for backup tasks with Z-DATdump at night, and no user needs to be logged in for this.

Z-Cron can be configured to run automatically at Windows startup. Status information can be sent using the Microsoft messaging service or email (via SMTP).

Examples of tasks that can be scheduled with Z-Cron

• Starting and stopping applications (also with parameters).
• Calling or saving sites.
• Loading documents.
• Start, stop, and monitor system services.
• Copying, moving, and deleting files and directories.
• Directory cleanup.
• Archiving and compressing files and directories.
• Turn computers on or off on a network.
• Automatic switching of electrical devices, for example, with the Z-USBswitch.
• Establishment and disconnection of internet/VPN connections (Modem/ISDN).
• Put computers in standby mode and turn them on automatically.

These tasks can be started automatically at the following times:

• Daily (every x days).
• Weekly (every x weeks on a day of the week, you can choose).
• Monthly (on the x calendar day or on the x day of the week of a month).
• Once.
• After system startup.
• At regular intervals (e.g. every 5 minutes, every hour, etc.)

System Requirements

The Z-Cron scheduler can be installed as a system service in Windows 10, 8, 7, Vista, XP, or Windows Server 2016, 2012 (R2), SBS 2011, 2008 (R2), and 2003.
