The Zondip1d program is designed for the interpretation of vertical welding electrodata of one-dimensional resistivity and induced polarization (taking into account the frequency). A vertical probe electros method (VES) is one of the oldest methods of electrical prospecting. The comparative simplicity and evidence of VES have resulted in its wide distribution and development worldwide. Currently, vertical electrical probing remains one of the most applied electromagnetic methods. Other modern technologies are developed on the basis of VES - for example, electric tomography, based on the same principles as for "classical" electrical probes.
One of the basic requirements for the application of geophysical methods is a contrast in the physical properties of the study object. For resistivity methods (including VES), it means that the object studied should be the contrast in electrical resistivity of the host rocks. Comfortable interface and wide data presentation possibilities allow to solve a certain geological problem with maximum effectiveness. When developing the software, special attention was paid to the comfort and simplicity of its use, variety of visualization features and a priori data account. Depending on the choice of interpreter, the software provides different variants of data interpretation algorithms.
The comfortable control system allows you to choose from the large number of equivalent results that will seem to be the best from a geophysical and geological point of view. Consequently, the profile line data is considered as a reflection of the geological section. This means that data from multiple stations in the profile line is integers and is not separate curve sets. Special window algorithms developed for interpretation of profile line data are provided in the software with each reduction of the P effect of the curve segment. But most software features can also be used while working with separate VES points.
Multi-station interpretation design is the basis of the ZondIP1D Programs. You can use area XY mapping with arbitrary line orientation in multiple-line mode. Zondip1d allows you to work with any type of electrode matrix or their combinations. The program supports both traditional (Schlumberger, Wenner or Axial Dipole-dipole) and more exotic matrices, with an arbitrary orientation of electrodes and mixed systems, taking into account frequency. Electrodes (source and measurement) can be located on a line or in arbitrary configuration in the plane. Data can be imported into the program in the formats of the most popular programs, such as Ipi2win, IX1D.
As the basic task of the program is the inversion of the parameters of the geoelectric section - few variants of the reverse problem are perceived in ZondIP1D, the basic ones are: smoothed inversion - to obtain smoothness and focus - to obtain the smooth distribution of geoelectric parameters vs depth. Because of the equivalence of inverse geophysical problems, the quality of the results obtained depends heavily on the amount of a priori data used. In Zondip1d there is the possibility of weight adjustment (Error ports) for measurements, fixation and limitation of different layer parameters, using an a priori model as a reference in inversion.
If the values of some section parameters are known exactly (a priori or in interpretation results), their fixation is possible before the start of automatic interpretation. Fixed parameters do not change during the inversion process. Parameter setting is the method for difficult regularization of the inversion process. Robust noise estimation schemes are performed in the program.
